Professor Samuel Chukwunonyerem Ohaegbulam is a distinguished Nigerian neurosurgeon and academic, widely recognized for his pioneering contributions to neurosurgery in West Africa.
He is the founder and Neurosurgeon-in-Chief of Memfys Hospital for Neurosurgery in Enugu, Nigeria, which he established in 2001. The hospital is renowned for providing advanced neurosurgical services and has become a leading center for neurosurgical care and training in the region. Under his leadership, Memfys Hospital has been instrumental in elevating the standards of neurosurgical practice in Nigeria and West Africa.
Professor Ohaegbulam’s academic career includes significant roles at the University of Nigeria, where he served as a lecturer, senior lecturer, reader, and professor of neurosurgery. He also held administrative positions such as Associate Dean and Dean of Medicine, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the university’s Enugu campus.
